The Domaine de la Gracieuse in Lonay has a fabulous new look after extensive refurbishments
After months of renovations under the leadership of managing director Thierry Barège, Domaine de la Gracieuse is now ready to dazzle visitors, ensuring the highest standards for its clients. The hotel residence, one of the most prestigious in French-speaking Switzerland, has had a stunning makeover, which has beautifully enhanced large parts of the complex to offer residents an even more unique and delightful experience.
Leisure and well-being
Set in a five-hectare park in Lonay, on the shores of Lake Geneva, at the entrance to the town of Morges, Domaine de la Gracieuse offers residents a wide range of sporting, cultural, and leisure activities to nurture body and mind, along with opportunities to socialize with one another. Residents can enjoy the swimming pool - including aqua gym sessions with physiotherapists - massages, skin and beauty treatments, keep fit classes, and sports in the multi-purpose hall. Leisure activities include a billiards area, a games room, and a library, which is constantly restocked with new titles. Concerts, film screenings, and conferences take place in the auditorium. The lounge bar is open all day, and the cellar bar is the perfect place to enjoy a fondue with friends and family. Outside, residents can enjoy a game of pétanque on the pétanque court, or go for a walk or jog through the vineyards and flower gardens, while enjoying the region's temperate climate.
The heated swimming pool and terrace, gym, hair and beauty salons, and billiards room have all been refurbished as part of the renovation, which has blended modernity and classicism to breathe new energy into the hotel, bringing it firmly into the 21st century, while still preserving the charm and spirit of La Gracieuse.
Hotel
The four-star hotel residence offers high-class sheltered apartments and hotel suites, ranging in size from 2.5 rooms to five rooms, designed for long stays. Each apartment has a balcony or terrace and a magnificent view of Lake Geneva and the Alps. A wide range of services is included in the hotel package: a menu for the day, a nursing service, wifi, daily entertainment, etc. If they wish, residents can furnish their apartments to their taste.
There are also ten furnished apartments for short stays, vacations, or convalescence, and five guest rooms available to residents' families and friends. Some of the furnished apartments have also been given a makeover with an emphasis on comfort and elegance.
The common areas, which have also been updated, are light and spacious, with a cozy atmosphere that is perfect for get-togethers and meetings.
Gourmet cuisine
Particular attention is paid to gastronomy at La Gracieuse. The three restaurants serve subtle and delicate cuisine in refined surroundings with impeccable service. Residents can entertain their guests here, organize celebratory meals in a private area, or, in fine weather, enjoy one of the most beautiful terraces on La Côte. If residents prefer, meals can be served in the apartments, and in the Care Unit, menus can be tailored to suit individual dietary requirements.
The Care Unit
La Gracieuse's Care Unit offers comprehensive, top-of-the-range, seamless medical care to residents. It aims to allow each resident to create a safe and secure home-from-home, in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, while taking care of their health daily. Each new resident is looked after according to a program drawn upon admission to the long-stay facility, in collaboration with family, close friends, and the multidisciplinary team.
Each member of staff is committed to providing individual care and support. The Care Unit mainly accommodates people in their third and fourth age, but younger people may be admitted temporarily for rehabilitation or convalescence, and exceptionally for a long stay.
