The Rougemont bakery-confectioners, a legendary meeting place in the heart of Nyon
Exclusive interview with owner Elisabeth Rougemont
What’s the recipe for success at your bakery-confectioners?
It's the love my husband and I have for our profession.
Baking is a demanding skill that requires both passion and patience, and I think both Steve and I possess these qualities. What's more, we're lucky enough to work with a team of experts who know what they're doing. We give 200% when it comes to satisfying our customers - whether in the kitchen or the dining room - with top-quality products and friendly service
Can you sum up the Rougemont bakery confectioners in a few words?
An explosion of flavors!
What sort of delicacies can customers enjoy?
We offer a wide variety of products: pastries, specialty breads, biscuits, and cakes, as well as confectionery, jams, and even glazed mandarins, some of which are gluten-free. Our puff-pastry flutes and crackers are also very popular and are available all year round, as are our sweet and savory nibbles, which clients can order for aperitifs, parties, and events.
Customers also like to pop in for snacks or lunch. We offer hot and cold dishes made with local produce and change the menu every day to make them feel right at home.
What are the strengths head baker and confectioner Steve?
Steve is a dedicated and passionate chef, who sets high standards for himself and also for his team. His strengths are apparent in his inspiration and recipes, which change with the seasons.
What gives you the most satisfaction in your job?
Pleasing my customers and knowing that they're happy to come to us because they love our products!
