Interview with Dr Gorki Carmona, the medical director at the Bois-Bougy clinic in Nyon, and director of care Mrs Noémie Nesztler.

For those of you who haven’t heard of it, the Bois-Bougy clinic is an in-patient rehabilitation centre, based in Nyon since 2013, in beautiful and relaxing green surroundings a stone's throw from Lake Geneva.

Along with La Métairie in Nyon and Grand-Salève, based in Veyrier, the clinic is part of the Clinea Suisse group, specialising in rehabilitation and psychiatry. As well as offering specific state-of-the-art treatments, these clinics offer top-of-the-range hotel comfort complemented by refined and balanced cuisine.

The Bois-Bougy clinic is an in-patient rehabilitation centre. Can you explain this service to our readers ?
This means that our clinic offers care in the fields of musculoskeletal, geriatric and neurological rehabilitation, internal medicine and oncology.

All the caregivers - neurologists, geriatricians, internists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, neuropsychologists, sports teachers, dieticians and social workers - work to provide a therapeutic programme with treatments adapted and personalised according to the needs and wishes of the patient and their relatives. The programme builds in objectives which aim to help the patient regain sufficient independence to be able to get on with their daily life.

In May 2022, the clinic extended its approach offering continuity of care by opening an outpatient rehabilitation centre.

Is it accessible to everyone ?
Our Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre is open to anyone requiring rehabilitation. We offer physiotherapy as well as specific treatment in the field of oncology and geriatrics. The aim of these programmes is to prevent the physical deterioration that can lead to hospitalisation and thus meet WHO recommendations on the "Healthy Ageing" challenge.

What’s special about the Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre ?
The quality of the multidisciplinary team including doctors specialising in oncology and geriatrics together with the state-of-the-art technical facilities including C-Mill®, NuStep®, and Technogym® which allows us to provide our patients with the best therapies.

We also offer balneotherapy. With our rehabilitation pool, we can carry out treatments allowing progressive support for recovery and gentle muscle strengthening, while providing patients with the relaxing and therapeutic benefits of water.
