ID.7 de Volkswagen

Are you thinking of switching to an electric vehicle but not sure which model to choose?

Hot on the heels of the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and ID.6 (launched only on the Chinese market) and the new ID. Buzz, the ID.7 is the sixth model in Volkswagen's EV family. Based on the MEB platform (Modular Electric Drive matrix), this electric sedan is intended for the three biggest markets of China, Europe and North America.

In response to customer feedback and to improve user experience, Volkswagen aims to supply products to suit customers in every single segment. The ID.7 offers top-of-the-range technology and quality and is a premium option within the manufacturer's family of electric vehicles.

The handsome ID.7 has many new features fitted as standard:
- a new display concept;
- an augmented reality head-up display;
- a 38-centimetre (15-inch) central display screen;
- digitally controlled air vents;
- illuminated touch sliders, and more.

You will love

the new air conditioning system, which has smart air vents and offers innovative functions. For example, the ID.7 can detect the driver approaching with their key and start cooling the interior on hot summer days or heating it when the weather is cold before the driver gets into the vehicle. Newly designed Smart Air Vents control airflow and can change direction to distribute air quickly in large volumes.

If there are passengers in the car, the air can be directed straight to the body or can ventilate the passenger compartment indirectly. These functions can be viewed at any time on the new large display screen and can be set and saved for each individual user. Special requests can also be activated using voice commands. So if the user says "Hello Volkswagen, my hands are cold!" the ID.7's on-board computer responds by starting the heated steering wheel function and directing warm air to the driver's hands.

You will enjoy

the aerodynamics of the ID.7, designed to help reduce energy consumption and increase range. The air intakes are located at the front to guide the air through them and along the body to the rear, forming an air curtain which calms the air flow to the sides of the vehicle. The roof has a dramatic coupe-like slope to the rear and thus contributes to the excellent drag coefficient. Volkswagen estimates that model will have a range of around 700 kilometres for the European version under the WLTP cycle.

You’ll want to know that

the MEB architecture of the Volkswagen Group, the short overhangs and the long wheelbase (116.9 inches) of the ID.7, allow for a particularly spacious interior, comparable to that of a luxury sedan. Thus, with the ID.7, Volkswagen is expanding its successful fully electric family of vehicles into the premium segment of the mass market and advancing its electric mobility campaign with the ACCELERATE strategy.

Volkswagen has already reached a first milestone: since the first ID.3 models were handed over to customers in September 2020, the manufacturer has sold more than 500,000 MEB vehicles worldwide through its subsidiaries - around a year earlier than expected and despite the ongoing supply chain difficulties.
